Sad Reminder of Why Help Is Still Needed

August 1, 2010

Rainy season continues in Haiti with more tragic consequences.

This week, two young boys were killed when a wall, weakened by rain, collapsed on a row of tarp homes. The cousins were sleeping inside. The father was away at the time working a police officer.

It’s actually insane that someone who has a job protecting the public is still living in a tarp house. But almost no reconstruction has happened. After carrying the children to the morgue, the father of the younger boy went to work building a new tarp home.

So much money has been donated. These people need homes now.
